Embryonic Chick Heart With Persistent Truncus Arteriosus

چکیده
were present in the ventricular myocytes from hearts at day 11 of incubation. However, day 11 hearts with persistent truncus arteriosus showed a twofold reduction in the peak magnitude of ICa.L at a test potential of + 10 mV without a concomitant reduction in the number of L channels detected by 1,4-dihydropyridine antagonist [(+)[3H]PN200-110] and agonist (Bay K 8644) receptor binding. The results indicated that an L channel regulatory mechanism other than protein synthesis was affected. These changes are consistent with responses to conditions of excessive hemodynamic burden that have been characterized in adult hearts. (Circulation Research 1990;66:1491-1498)

Effects of the size of lesions of the cardiac neural crest at various embryonic ages on incidence and type of cardiac defects.
Removal of premigratory neural crest over somites 1 through 3 in chick embryos has been shown previously to result in a significant incidence of persistent truncus arteriosus. In the present study, single somite-length pieces of premigratory neural crest were removed unilaterally at slightly different embryonic ages. These lesions resulted in a number of different heart defects. Two defects, ve...
متن کاملFinal Cardiac Phenotpe and Survival After Neural Crest Ablation in Chick Embryos
Background. Microcinephotography was used to study a model of persistent truncus arteriosus created in chick embryos by ablation of premigratory neural crest destined for the third and fourth aortic arch arteries as well as the septum of the cardiac outflow tract. Methods and Results. Twenty-five control embryos and 105 of 202 experimental embryos were filmed on day 3 of incubation and then rei...
متن کاملMicrocinephotography of the developing heart in neural crest-ablated chick embryos.
Microcinephotography was used to study heart development in a neural crest model of heart defects, that is, persistent truncus arteriosus, interrupted aortic arch, double outlet right ventricle, or single ventricle and tricuspid valve anomalies. These defects were created in chick embryos by ablation of premigratory neural crest destined for the aorticopulmonary and truncal septa, as well as th...
